Internet not working in Windows XP installed on Macbook

Internet not working in Windows XP installed on Macbook
I have a Macbook Pro which is installed with Mac OS X 10.5.8 on it. I use Wifi to access Internet on the Macbook. The Macbook is powered by Intel Core2 Duo processor and 2gb Ram. I have used the Bootcamp utility to install Windows XP on the Macbook. The problem is I am not able to access Internet on Macbook while running Windows XP. The Macbook connects to the wireless router without any problems in Mac OS but the Macbook does not connect while using Windows XP. If anybody is facing the same Problems while using Internet in Windows Xp on Macbook then please share some information.

Re: Internet not working in Windows XP installed on Macbook
Probably the router is not able to detect the Macbook when it is using the Windows operating system. It happens many times that the router is not able to see the devices when the same device is booted with different operating system. You can try to reboot the router and then see if the router detects the Macbook or not. First boot the system using Windows operating system and then power on the router. Once the router stabilizes then only start the Wifi of the Macbook and then try to connect to the router. Hope it helps.

Have you installed the drivers of the Network adapter in Windows XP? In the Windows operating system, for any device to work it requires proper drivers to be installed. Check if the drivers installed for the Network adapter are working properly under Windows XP. To check if the drivers are working properly or not, right click on My computer and select Manage. Now select Device manager from the list populated on the left side. Search and select the Network adapter from the list on the right side and check if there are caution signs are not. If there are caution signs then select troubleshoot. Once the procedure is complete then try to connect the Macbook to the router.

Re: Internet not working in Windows XP installed on Macbook
Try connecting the Macbook to the router using Hardwired method while using Windows XP. In hardwired method, you will require a CAT 5 cable to connect the Macbook to the router. Boot the system using Windows XP and then connect the Macbook to the router using CAT 5 cable. Now Right click on the LAN and select properties. In properties, select TCP/IP Utilities and then click on Properties button. Now if you have a Static IP then select "Use the following IP address option" and enter the IP or Select the "Assign IP automatically" option which will assign the IP automatically from the DHCP server. Apply the settings and then see if the Macbook is able to surf Internet or not.

Re: Internet not working in Windows XP installed on Macbook
I suspect that the Windows XP is not installed properly on the Macbook which is creating problems while using the Internet. Many of the apple users face the same problem of corrupt windows installation on the Mac system while using Bootcamp. I will suggest you to delete the partition which is created by using the Bootcamp and then format it again using MAC HD format. Then run the bootcamp again to create the partition for installing Windows operating system. Once the operating system is installed again, install proper drivers for the Network adapter and then try to connect the Macbook to the router while booting in Windows XP.

Re: Internet not working in Windows XP installed on Macbook
As the Macbook is able to connect to the router while using Mac operating system but is not able to connect to the router while using Windows Xp, it is clear that the Windows is corrupted with Virus. The Mac operating systems are immune to virus attacks unlike the Windows operating system which are prone to Virus attacks. Some Virus's when downloaded link themselves with the files associated to the Network resources. If such files are infected then the system will not be able to access the network devices. Scan the system with an updated antivirus while booting into Windows XP. Repair the Infected files. If repairing does not help then reinstall the Windows operating system again.

"GmailDefaultClient" extension is the solution of your problem that will give you the access of the mailto link and directly open the Gmail account as for the mailing issue. During the installation of this add on you will get a dialog prompting for the installation on your own risk as you trust. Click on the OK as you know that what you are installing. I think this will be the best one to use for the mailto . So if you like then install this extension for your browser. That all i have for you right now for more let me know the same.

Internet Inconsistency in Windows 7

Internet Inconsistency in Windows 7
I have computers in my home network which are connected to a Linksys router through which I share the single Internet connection on all the computers. All the computers used to work on Windows XP and everything was working fine. The problem started when I upgraded the operating system on one of the Computers to Windows 7. I am facing Internet Inconsistency in Windows 7. The other two computers which are running on Windows XP do not face Internet disconnection. I cant figure out what the problem is and hence I need your help in solving this Issue.

Re: Internet Inconsistency in Windows 7
Check the configuration of the Network which you are connecting to. Sometimes it happens that the configuration of the network changes due to addition or deletion of the network device. Hence check the configuration and then see for any changes which you have not done. If there are any changes then revert them back to the original setting and then save the settings. After changing the configuration, see if you are able to surf the Internet without any disconnection or not.

Re: Internet Inconsistency in Windows 7
I think the router is not able to handle the traffic created by 3 computers and hence it is disconnecting one of the computer from the network. If the router is old then check if it is able to handle the number of devices which you have connected to it. As the time passes the routers capacity to handle more components decreases. If the router is too old then replacing the router will do the trick. To be sure that the problem is because of the router, get it checked by some technician who can tell you exact reason of the network failure.

Re: Internet Inconsistency in Windows 7
By looking at the problem it seems like the driver issue. Windows 7 faces the issue of incompatibility with many manufacturers of the Network adapter. Because of this the Network adapter of many manufacturers do not work in Windows 7 as the operating system does not support the driver. Check if the drivers installed for the network adapter are working properly or not. To check the drivers status, right click on the My computer and then go to device manager. If there are any caution sign against the Network adapter then follow the troubleshooting procedure and see if the problem is solved. You can also try to update the drivers if needed.

Re: Internet Inconsistency in Windows 7
Windows 7 when released had many network related problems which were later solved in patches and updates. This patches and the updates of the Windows 7 should be downloaded and then installed on the computer in order to solve the issue. This patches and updates are available on the official Microsoft site which can be downloaded for free. You will have to download and install the network patch for Windows 7. Installing the Patch will solve the problem.

Re: Internet Inconsistency in Windows 7
Try disabling DHCP and the IP V6 feature of the Windows 7 and then try to connect the computer to the network. To disable the IP V6 feature of the Windows 7 follow the steps below :-
1. Click on Start menu and select Run
2. In run type "ncpa.cpl" and press enter
3. Now select each and every network and view the properties.
4. Now remove the Checkmark against the IP V6 protocol
5. Click Ok and exit the wizard.
Disabling the IPV6 feature will hopefully help you in surfing the Internet without any disconnections.

Hey can you tell me what version of the Google Chrome you are using so that it will help u s to realize the problem of yours. I have heard that there are some crashing problem seen in the dev Chrome but that was not because of the Google Chrome it was because of the extension that it was using. So you also remove any extension that you are using to work with the same.

The google chrome will not erase your data automatically because this feeature is not yet implemented on this browser. Hence i think you will have to do it manually by clearing the history and your browser cache each and every time while exit. May google implement this in some of google chrome's awaited or further version.

Check for some add-ons released by google chrome which might help you in this matter. If the google does not provide this making use of programs like 'privacy eraser pro' might help you install this program and you can now remove all your browsing history within few seconds. I hope you will fix this issue soon.

The Click&Clean chrome add-on of the google chrome will help you to clear all your bowsing history whenever you close your google chrome browser. I have used it and it works quiet well also you don't have to remember all the time to delete the browsing history because this add-on will help you to delete the history as soon as you close your browser history.

Re: Deleting History Automatically on Exit in google chrome
You can achieve this quiet easily simply what you have to do is open your google chrome in incognito mode by default using the parameter chrome.exe - incognito and now start the google chrome browser and after browsing as soon as you close the browser all of your history will be deleted automatically.

So you want to clear all your browsing history automatically you can do this in two way either you can achieve it by using the Click&Clean extension of the google chrome the second method to achieve this is to open your google chrome in incognito mode. You will have to make use of the chrome.exe - incognito parameter for this.

Re: How to disable Web Site window resizing in Mozilla Firefox?
Hey this is very easy and can be managed by the Firefox option setting only. there is an setting in the Firefox itself that will let you select the option for the disabling of the web site window in the Firefox. All you have to do is to get in the Contents tab from there disable the "Move or resize existing windows" by clicking on the check box. I hope that you will do the same as i have discussed to make the window of the web site from the resizing. If you like it then say thanks. Thats it

Add on are nothing but the support for the external application to run on the Mozilla Firefox. If any one have running the Firefox and want to run an application that is not the part of the Firefox then they would require the add ons to run that application without any issue. This add on are show the compatibility of the application to the browser and also allow them to run on the browser. So if you are looking for some then you can get it from the extension page of the browser. For more add on visit the link below

How to set Google search as a Homepage in Firefox 12

How to set Google search as a Homepage in Firefox 12 I have recently downloaded a new Firefox version i.e. Firefox 12 and installed it on my desktop computer. After installation I found out that it replaced my old, reliable and best search engine Google with a new one i.e. “Bing”. I don’t like this search engine and want to get rid of it as soon as possible. I have used Google from past few years now and now I don’t want to change it at any cost and even my computer knowledge is not that well, that I’ll make a change by my own so can someone guide me how to change from Bing to Google search. I want Google Search as my default home page..? Reply With Quote #2 Unread 1 Week Ago Kiran25 Kiran25 is offline Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Posts: 372 Re: How to set Google search as a Homepage in Firefox 12 Same thing happened to me when I installed Mozilla Firefox 12 on my Desktop PC. First I thought “Bing” is the default home page provided by Firefox and cannot be changed so I used the same for few days but I was very much missing my favorite Google so I searched for solution to set Google as my default home page and trust me it is so damn easy to set your own homepage in Firefox 12. Just the matter of few steps and you will be able to set the Home page you like. There are just three simple steps and you will be able to set your home page: Open the website you want to set your home page(In your case it would be www.google.co.in) Click the Icon to the left of the web address; drag it to the Home Button, and then release. Click yes to set this as you home page. These three simple steps will help you set your home page. Reply With Quote Reply
