Mac OS X 10.5.6 running slow
I have installed Mac OS X 10.5.6 on my iMac. From past few days I have noticed that system of mine is running bit slow. I could not find out why the above mentioned problem is happening. Any help to resolve the matter will be appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

Tell me whether spotlight indexing running on the computer? you have to clicked on Spotlight icon and see what do you getting over there. in case it is still indexing then it will slow down your machine.

If you wanted to disable the spotlight indexing you will have to execure below mentioned command on the terminal.
Code:

sudo mdutil -i off /

in order to enable the same execute the below mentioned command.

Code:

sudo mdutil -i on / && sudo mdutil -E /

I am having temporary work around to resolve the issue and I am hoping that it will be helpful to fix the issue.

Go for the System preferences and click on Users and Groups.
Now you have to delete all the things which are under of the settings for the Network Account Server till you get Join button into the UsersxGroups screen.

Make sure that you are having the back up of bootable clone and use the same to test the same. you should try to repair your hard drive. after that try to boot your computer into safe mode. In case the clone is working without having any issue then reformat your computer and restore the same.
