Firefox 12 does not start PDF downloads automatically
Right now I am on Firefox 12. Whenever I try to see a PDF file from a website, I just have to click on it and Firefox would automatically open a window for download and it requests for to download. But with this new version, the Firefox no longer opens the download window whenever I try to open a PDF file nor I can able to select the location so that the file to be saved. Now whenever I click on the pdf file, the Firefox opens a new tab but it will not open the download manager. Do you think that Firefox will directly open the PDF page on the new tab rather than downloading it on the computer? Why it has changed?

Re: Firefox 12 does not start PDF downloads automatically
It seems to me that you have enabled the Adobe Reader plug-in in Firefox 12 and due to this whenever you click on PDF files to download, it will open in new tab for displaying rather than download it on the separately. You have to disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox and use the Adobe Reader program or Preview instead. Firefox > Preferences > Applications > Adobe PDF document: Use Adobe Reader. I had the same problem. To correct this you have to copy the nppdf32.dll located under the directory C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Reader 8.0 \ Reader \ Browser in the directory C: \ Program Files \ Mozilla Firefox \ plugins.

Re: Firefox 12 does not start PDF downloads automatically
When you go to Firefox>Tools>Options, there you will see several options for the downloads.
Show the download window when downloading files
Save files to
Always ask me where to save
Choose the desired option which you need for the downloads and what you can get with these changes.
