MAC not working on GPS
Hi,
I am facing some issue with my internet I think so. I have a a wireless internet connection. The same works fine. But here what I am trying to do is to enable a GPS device on the internet and then use the same for navigation. But settings are not proper here. I am not able to enter any wi-fi network. I have a MAC pc and I am not sure about the configuration settings also.

You will see a padlock appears next to my WiFi network. This means it is protected by WPA. Select a network and a window appears. Then type the word pase (WPA) and I click OK. You are now connected to the internet via my own WiFi network. If you check Remember this Network, then need to re-enter the WPA key to opening a new session on your Mac. This will be automatically connected to this WiFi network.

Here configuration via modem WiFi router, you can either configure Using DHCP or through Using DHCP with manual address by clicking on the Advanced button and going to the tab TCP / IP, then using the menu Configure IPv4. In the first case, the modem-router that dynamically allocates your Mac's internal IP address (this may change) in the second case, you determine a fixed internal IP address for each connected Mac the modem-router

I will recommend you first check this that you come in the range of a wi-fi network. If yes then check your hardware status. There is lot of things needed be configured inorder to setup the network and a gps device on it. I am sure that there is some problem in your computer which is related to hardware. See your router settings properly and then try back.

When you are configuring your GPS device then in the setting box first select your country and your language. Then set the preferences to start (as you wish). And leave the box Allow the collection of anonymous usage statistics unchecked, unless you really want the check (TOMTOM wishes collect anonymous statistics to improve the quality of maps and navigation comfort.

I am using a TOMTOM GPS device. By default, all backups, copies, and downloads that you make via the TomTom HOME will be stored in a folder TomTom folder located in your Documents. You can (on this tab define other sites. Needless also to go hacking in this folder TomTom folder in your Documents. The safest is to always go through TomTom HOME software that makes perfect interface between your TomTom, your Mac and the TOMTOM website (your personal account).
