Re: Tribes Ascend Object and Texture Popping Annoying
Hello I have installed the windows 7 on mine system and I have installed this game without any issue although while playing this I am facing the Terrible mouse lag/stuttering, which makes the game unplayable and It just happens randomly. Movement gets all stutter, my reticule won't move smoothly. Then maybe for a few seconds it starts swinging too fast. I suppose this is a net code issue? In any case, it just breaks the game for me. I have disabled the vsync and framerate smoothing but this doesn’t helped me to solve mine issue. So can anyone suggest me how to solve the mouse lag and stuttering issue on this game…

Yes I agree with you because I have faced this same issue since I have started this game. I have tried the almost all steps to solve this issue but noting helped me to solve mine issue and still I am getting this same but I am playing. According to me they should create some sort of optimization being done so that we can graphics settings for static object draw distance and also dynamic object draw distance and I think this will really help to solve Object and Texture Popping on this game. For mouse lagging and stuttering this is more likely to be a mouse issue, especially in Windows 7 (which won't let you control the polling rate). I had to stop using my Intel mouse Explorer because when I was trying to make small movements with the mouse the polling rate would drop as low as 15-20 per second (which meant it was like playing with that framerate). So therefore I would like to suggest you to hanging the mouse polling rate in Windows 7.

Runs fine, around 60 fps. It's not something that has to do with fps anyway, it just behaves weirdly. I'd have to record something so you get the idea and I never had this in TA except when using high level GFX but it was due to fps drops. What i get in TA is my mouse just stopping to work for a sec, but i don't think it could give what you describe. In the end i ll go for the mouse problem too. Got a razer db that did me something likes that, in the beginning i felt like i was moving slower and then too fast for a sec and it barely ever happened. a few weeks later the effect increased and i realized the mouse was registering all my movements, the game was just "playing" them super fast a few sec later.

I have the same thing....random fps drops, just randomly starts stuttering, i could be fighting 5 people, explosions everywhere and it runs smooth and another time its all stuttering, it’s a completely random framerate decrease, its horrible...it doesn’t matter where I am, or how many things my pc has to process, it just randomly occurs, like i have 90 fps, then it suddenly starts stuttering no matter where I am, and if this stutter happens while I’m fighting people, it makes me die a lot....it only happens on CTF, it does not happen in arena or TDM... I have no idea why this is happening...it only happens with tribes and no other game.

Yes, all games do this, but most are usually much better at actually masking it from the user. Take a good look and see just how close objects are popping into view, it's pretty bad. The game has done this since the beginning so this isn't a result of some sort of optimization being done. In fact, it points to a decided lack of optimization being done. Agreed. I have had this problem ever since December when I first started playing. IMO the leaves on Arx Novena are the worst offenders, they look fine until mid distance then look like green 8-bit era squares, then finally load.
