CID website hacked by pro-Pakistan hackers

Hackers cocked a snook at police fighting cyber crime by defacing the CID website, www.cidap.gov.in, in the week hours of Tuesday. Incidentally, CID also has a cyber crime cell.

Additional DGP AK Khan confirmed that the CID website was hacked and efforts were on to restore it.

According to Additional DGP (Law and Order) A K Khan the hacking was real but it seems that someone only wanted to prove that our web site could be attacked.

“We have blocked the URL, efforts are on to restore the information and track the hackers. People have to bear the inconvenience till we restore information on the website,” Khan said. He said that the AP police was competent enough to handle cyber crime and the CID personnel were tracking the attacker’s server.

The hackers left messages claiming the attack was in retaliation to the hacking of Pakistan's Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority's (OGRA) web site.
