Realtek Selects Teradyne UltraWave 12G

Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE: TER) announced that Realtek Semiconductor
Corporation purchased the UltraFLEX™ test system and UltraWave™ 12G
instrumentation equipped with the Embedded Signal Analyzer (ESA)
Toolkit. Realtek, a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in
Hsinchu, Taiwan, will test WLAN 802.11n MIMO with PCI-E
System-On-a-Chip (SOC) devices for laptop and desktop PCs.

The recently introduced ESA Toolkit embeds industry-leading vector
signal analysis software tools and functions into Teradyne's IG-XL™
software, while adding an extensive wireless waveform library covering
more than 20 wireless cellular and connectivity standards. It allows
the same debug tools and measurement algorithms to span design, bench
verification and ATE for easy correlation. Used in conjunction with
the UltraFLEX Background DSP™, the ESA Toolkit also enables full
modulation test in volume multisite production with zero test time
impact for data transfer, computation and datalogging. The ESA Toolkit
is supported and available on the UltraFLEX test system's RF, analog
and digital instruments and is also available for use with off-line
IG-XL workstations.

"The ESA Toolkit sets the standard for modulated signal analysis in
ATE," said Wilson Wang, Realtek deputy director and Testing
Engineering department manager. "Our test engineering group can
effortlessly add key tests such as EVM and Spectral Mask, even for
MIMO device configurations. When product engineering wants to compare
results with the bench equipment, we can now use the same software
environment on UltraFLEX as in the lab."
